Welcome to Working Well

Watch the video to see what the community is all about

When joining the community to become a Working Well Being, you will bring your own unique set of traits and skills. If you are wondering if you have what it takes to be a Working Well Being, the four skills below are a good place to start!

Passion

It’s a pre-requisite. We have a personal interest in wellbeing and believe it’s essential for human performance at work.

Curiosity

We constantly want to learn and grow in our roles.

Generosity

A willingness to share your good ideas and give your time to help others.

No selling though!

Connection

The role of a wellbeing leader can sometimes be lonely. We therefore strive to make connections and create change.

Each Working Well Being is unique. They come from a range of backgrounds - HR, OD, Health and Safety, Operations etc. They work at all levels, from Graduate entrants to Senior Management.

The thing that connects them all? A belief that Wellbeing at Work should be available for all employees, within all organisations - and that they can play at part in creating this.

Where it started

Where it started *

Working Well was first created in 2021 as a three-day virtual conference.

After a tough couple of years during the Pandemic, our founders, Matt Smeed and Aletheia Conway-Hughes, wanted to create a space where wellbeing champions and leaders could come together - to share ideas and hear from leading figures in the industry.

It was an “if you build it, they will come” moment!

So we did build it, and people did come - and what’s more, they loved it! (Check out the testimonial video).

The only shame was it had to end. Or did it…

It was during those amazing three days that we were convinced, there is a real need for this. And so, the Working Well Conference 2021 became the Working Well Community.

Our Founders

Matt is a business psychologist, voted one of HR’s Most Influential Thinkers in 2023, who has worked with some of the worlds largest brands to design and embed wellbeing interventions and strategy.

Aletheia is a corporate health & wellbeing expert working with clients across the UK, she is also a yoga teacher and has 10 years experience working in global health charities.

They have a combined 25 years of experience working in workplace wellbeing, clients include Facebook, Tik Tok, Kensington Palace, Citymapper, WeWork, AEG & Lendlease.

It all begins with an idea.
